About me
I was born in Guernsey in the late 1950's, moving to England at the end of my teens as an adventurous young lady. The differences between quiet island life and busy town life has never ceased to amaze me. This is reflected in my work as I flit to and fro between the situations. Depending upon the artistic mood at the time my works focus either on the serene studies of the natural world, or the bold geometricity and complex studies the man-made world.
The most loved series of paintings has been my stylized lollipop flowers.
Influences
The artists I most admire, and probably unknowingly emulate, are Juan Gris and Georges Braque (cubists), Claude Monet and Van Gogh (Impressionists) and Rene Magritte (Surrealist). Edouard Arman's Accumulations have always fascinated me. I am still working on how to some day produce such work on canvas.
